Class of 1968 Mini-Reunion, September 30th – October 1st,
2011
Directions to the Quechee Club for the Friday evening
dinner: Rather than
having our own venue at the Quechee Club, we will be dining
in the main dining room, and ordering from the menu. Our
reservations are for 7pm.
Because of the
flooding from Hurricane Irene, the covered bridge
leading to the Quechee village was washed out, so a more
circuitous route must be taken to get to the Quechee Club.
Driving west from Hanover on Rt. 4, turn right at the Fat
Hat Factory (large sign) and stay on that road for about 1
1/2 miles into the village. Continue on that road past Simon
Pearce another 1 1/2 miles to the Quechee Club.
I look forward to seeing
all of you on Friday evening.
Our annual class mini-reunion will take place the last
weekend in September. We will begin with a class dinner at
the Quechee Club on Friday, Sept. 30th, at 7pm. (Cash bar.
Entrée choices will be sent for selection to those who sign
up, prior to the event).
NOTE: We scheduled the class dinner on Friday evening at
a time when it looked like the football game vs. Penn would
be a Saturday night game, under the newly installed lights
on Memorial Field. It is still uncertain whether that game
will be a Saturday afternoon or a Saturday night game. We
are waiting to hear back from Penn, but it looks
increasingly likely that it will be an afternoon game.
There will be a class meeting Saturday at 10AM in the
Winship Conference Room of Blunt Alumni Center. That will be
followed by a tailgate picnic on the south lawn of Alpha
Delta Fraternity, directly across from Memorial Stadium. The
football game vs. Penn follows the tailgate. (If you plan on
attending the game, please order your own tickets in the
class section). Following the football game, for those who
are interested, there is a soccer double-header, men’s and
women’s teams vs. Princeton.
The cost of the mini will be $50/person. If you plan on
attending, please confirm by sending an email to me,
John.Engelman@dartmouth.edu
, no later than September 20th, and let me know how many
will be in your party.
We hope to see many of you back in Hanover for the
mini-reunion. The weather should be terrific, the campus
rarely looks better than it does in the early fall, and the
football team is poised to make a serious run for the Ivy
League title. |
